Together in the Park
2025 SUMMER POP-UP CLASS SERIES!
Together in the Park is a nature program designed for children, ages 2-8, and their caregivers to get outside to play and find community. Our nature programs take place year-round in area parks and green spaces, and offer a variety of invitations to play designed to spark wonder and curiosity and enhance relationships with the natural world.
This summer we will have a limited series of “Things with Wings” Together in the Park pop-up classes highlighting a few of our favorite parks and our favorite summer friends.
Butterflies and Bees | Friday June 20th, McGaw Park
Birds | Tuesday July 15th, Hoyt Park
Bats | Saturday Aug 9, Westmorland Park
Pricing: $22.50 per class or $60 for all 3
Class Structure
Our classes are based on child-led play and value the process of wonder and experimentation over a final product. Each nature play session follows a predictable rhythm, while introducing a new theme of the week. Every class begins with a gathering activity, followed by story-time and a mini-hike to our finding spot where we discover the tools for our main activity. Nearby is a nature table extension for further exploration on the day’s theme. We end class with nature journaling and a closing circle.
For every activity, while there is a play theme in mind, the children are encouraged to turn it into their own and play in any way. We work hard to make each class hit on as many different sensory processes as we can so that every child’s developmental needs are met.
Registration tip: after selecting the class session you want, select your quantity and then click on the session’s start date on the calendar to continue the enrollment process.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to withdraw from a Together in the Park class session for any reason, please inform us in writing at least one week prior to the start of class to transfer your registration to another class session, or at your request, a refund (less 20% admin fee). If you request to withdraw within 7 days of classes starting, a refund (less 50% admin fee) will be issued.
If your child is unable to attend class due to medical reasons, you may receive a refund (less 20% admin fee) at any time prior to the start of classes, or if after the start of classes, a prorated refund for any remaining classes (less 20% admin fee) by providing a doctor's note.
Refunds will not be issued for any non-attendance or cancellations received after the start of the program. (If you do have to miss a class, it may be possible to arrange a class make-up within another class session if arranged with the Leader in advance. This is not a guarantee.)
In the event that a Together in the Park class is canceled by Naturing in Madison due to severe weather or a leader emergency, the class will be rescheduled to one of the designated make-up days. If a specified make-up date is not included in the class listing, efforts will be made to make up the canceled class, but is not guaranteed. If NiM is unable to make up a single event class OR ever needs to cancel more than 1 day of a multi-day program and additional make-up classes are not possible, at the Enrollee’s REQUEST, Naturing in Madison will offer the following options: A REFUND for the canceled classes at the prorated amount for missed day(s) (minus a 20% Admin/processing fee). A CREDIT for canceled classes good for future programming at NiM (minus a 20% Admin/processing fee). A TRANSFER for the cost of canceled classes into our Scholarship Fund.
