Crafting in the Wild

Nature play isn’t just for kids, grown-up’s need time and connection in nature with their peers too! After observing caregivers at our Together in the Park classes consistently immerse themselves in the more creative activities, we knew this was a needed outlet for many adults.

Our first Crafting in the Wild event this spring was such a lovely afternoon spent with an inspiring group of new and old friends. We are excited to announce that Crafting in the Wild will continue to meet monthly at Hoyt Park (typically 1st or 2nd Sunday of the month), as long as the weather permits. ALL are welcome! You do not need to be an experienced crafter or artist at all to participate.

Most gatherings will be a relaxed, socially focused, bring-your-own-craft with optional nature art kit add-ons for those in need of a project to work on. Some Crafting in the Wild gathering may host a specific group nature craft activity and tutorial, such as working with plant dyes, candle making, and needle felting.

New! While the winter months ahead may limit our outdoor time together for making, consider joining our new virtual Crafting in the Wild community! A place for creatives who cannot attend our in-person gatherings to still benefit from community, nature, and creativity. Share with us what you are working on, get inspiration for new hobbies or project ideas! All are welcome!

Our next gathering:

Sunday January, 19th, 2-5pm

Bring your own craft or select a nature kit add-on at registration. Gatherings are FREE (unless purchasing an art kit), however please consider donating to our scholarship fund at registration check-out. Christie will be demonstrating how to make a 3D needle felted fungi for those who purchase the needle felting kit add-on.
